Our new Pro Tip series kicks off with one of the most important skills to master for successful, stress-free meal preparation - mise en place. Meaning ‘to put in place’ it is a french culinary term commonly used in restaurants and in the kitchens of many savvy home cooks and encompasses any planning and work do be done in preparation of cooking or baking.


In this class we’ll cover mise en place essentials like planning, setting up, knife skills & basic cuts, proper equipment, measuring & weighing ingredients, understanding recipes & conversions, weeknight shortcuts, and proper storage. It’s action-packed and includes a light meal.


This series is open to ages 15 and older - no young children please.

*Cancellation Policy: Payments for classes and events at Urban Kitchen are non-refundable. You may reschedule a class with a minimum of 72 hours notice.
